This marked the ninth factory tour invitation event organized by Aier Pet Food in its 25th year, and this time the invited guests were the Nantong Pet Creation team. The raw materials used by Aier Pet Food come from around the globe. Through their network of raw material suppliers, it’s evident that many of these ingredients originate from world-renowned, high-quality production regions—for example, fish oil from Peru and yellowfin tuna from Kiribati. Moreover, before any raw material enters the factory, it must meet both national and company-specific standards. The materials undergo a total of 117 rigorous tests—including inspection and quarantine certificates, equipment inspections for material transportation, freshness indicators (such as volatile basic nitrogen and histamine levels), and a wide range of nutritional parameters—ensuring that every batch of raw materials is truly safe and traceable.

Behind Aier Pet Food lies a 4.0 smart factory equipped with cutting-edge pet food production machinery sourced from around the globe: the U.S.-made WENGER 5T/10T extrusion unit, the German KARLSCHNELL ultrafine grinder, the Dutch Geelen dryer & cooling tower, the Dutch DINNISSEN vacuum coating machine, the Dutch SYMACH packaging machine, and palletizing equipment. The factory has achieved fully automated production, leveraging technology to elevate product quality.

As pet food processing enters a fiercely competitive phase, visitors arrived at Aier’s quality inspection center. Every half hour, staff conduct real-time spot checks on semi-finished products, examining indicators including bulk density, hardness, dimensions, color, moisture content, water activity, and physicochemical properties (crude protein, crude fat, and crude fiber). All finished products must pass more than 30 tests—each meeting the stringent standards required for export certification—and are then submitted to an authoritative third-party testing agency. With data as its proof, Aier Pet Food demonstrates the brand’s relentless pursuit of “safety.”
Trial Feeding Base: Dual Verification of Quality and Palatability
Through our earlier visit, we gained a deep understanding of how Aier Pet Food leverages technology to empower its products and uses data-driven approaches to verify quality. Now, arriving at Aier’s trial feeding base provides an opportunity to put these experimental results into practical testing. Located more than 5 kilometers from the factory, Aier Pet Food has established a trial feeding base covering 13,000 square meters, where 500 dogs and cats are raised under conditions that closely mimic typical urban pet-keeping environments. Before any product leaves the factory, it undergoes a 28-day humane trial feeding period, during which canine and feline taste testers evaluate the palatability of the products. The entire base is supported by a logistics team of 20 people, along with a dedicated team of nutritionists and veterinarians who provide round-the-clock care for the pets, ensuring that they receive a balanced diet and optimal growth and development every day. Thanks to its fully equipped facilities and extensive management experience, Aier Pet Food has been able to generate outstanding feedback on its product testing data.
